Frequently Asked Questions

  • To become a garden member the cost is $15/year. Membership allows you to care for community areas (such as our food share, medicinal and pollinator plots), to have daily access to the garden and to get involved with activities such as composting & beekeeping. 

    All garden members must volunteer for 2 public weekend hours a month during the season between 10am and 2pm.

    Membership with a plot costs $35/year and is limited to the amount of plots that are available. You must first become a member of the garden before putting your name on the waiting list for a plot.

    If the waiting list is long, it may take several seasons to be offered a plot.

  • The City maintains a compost drop outside the main entrance to the garden in a wooden shed. Inside the wooden shed are toters place your food waste. Please follow the directions on the shed for how to compost. No plastic, and no biodegradable plastic. These don’t break down.

  • The garden is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible charitable organization, EIN 45-1594510. Donations can be made on Zelle - riverviewcommunitygarden@gmail.com

  • The garden is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM to 2PM from April to November.
