Where the Heights Comes to Grow

Volunteer

Since 1995, Riverview Community Garden has been a cornerstone of the Jersey City Heights community.

As a 501(c)(3), we rely on neighbors like you to keep this space vibrant and accessible to all.

The Riverview Community Garden began as an abandoned, overgrown city lot— until neighbors Greg Bricky and Kathy Packard secured a Jersey City grant to transform it into a shared green space.

In 1995, Anne‑Marie Uebbing of the NJ Department of Housing, Economic Development and Commerce granted the land a permanent charter, officially weaving it into Riverview Fisk Park.

Beautiful sanctuary and very welcoming community. Love composting and gardening here. Fun programs for the lil guys. Such a gem!

I’ve lived in the Heights for many years and my son calls it The Beautiful Garden.
